About the event

About the presenter – Professor Charlotte Forwood


Charlotte Forwood is a dually registered Primary/Secondary Teacher and Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with experience working in government, independent and specialist schools (Foundation to Year 12) in Australia and England. She has a particular interest in vocabulary development, language and literacy skills, Developmental Language Disorder, pedagogy, and curriculum design.


Charlotte is a Professor of Practice, Education and Impact in the School of Education at La Trobe University and a member of the highly regarded SOLAR Lab. She is a subject coordinator and lecturer in the Master of Education Language and Literacy specialisation. Charlotte is also the Director of Research and Design at Camberwell Girls Grammar School where she is responsible for big picture projects that have included explicit literacy instruction implementation in 2018 and research-practice partnerships with Harvard GSE, the University of Melbourne and Swinburne University.
