Vaccination Information

Purpose

​

The purpose of this page is to provide information to our SPS partner schools on how SPS is meeting its obligations in relation to Victorian Government COVID-19 directions (Pandemic COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Specified Facilities) Order 2022 (No. 3)).  As a provider of education services with speech pathologists, who are authorised allied health workers, SPS complies with the Directions in the same way as any other education operator or allied healthcare operator.

Speech Pathology for Schools Pty Ltd ABN 72616734537 collects, records and holds vaccination information about its workers.  This information can be provided to operators of education facilities, that is, our partner schools and Authorised Officers on a need-to-know basis.

 

How to obtain Vaccination Information of SPS workers

Where any SPS partner school requires Vaccination Information of SPS workers for the purpose of compliance with the government directions SPS will provide access to this information upon request.

Background

 

The Victorian Government, on 12 Jan 2022, issued the Pandemic COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Specified Facilities) order 2022 (no. 3).  These directions impose obligations on operators of education facilities to:

 

  • collect, record and hold vaccination information of workers as soon as possible; and

  • take reasonable steps to prevent entry of unvaccinated workers into education facilities as soon as possible. 

 

Vaccination information includes vaccination status, vaccination bookings and proof of vaccination.

Privacy statement
​
  • SPS protects the privacy of personal information including vaccination information.

  • SPS complies with the Australian Privacy Act (1988) and the Victorian Health Records Act (2001).

  • In accordance with the government directions SPS must collect, record and hold vaccination information about SPS workers.  SPS will collect this information from our workers using the SPS VaxApp and this vaccination information will be securely stored in the same way as all other personal employment information SPS may hold.

  • Vaccination information includes vaccination status, vaccination bookings and proof of vaccination. SPS collects this information for the purpose of administering our worker's employment as an allied health authorised worker attending education facilities.

  • SPS will only use this information for the purpose of complying with the Pandemic COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Specified Facilities) order 2022 (no. 3).

  • SPS vaccination information may be disclosed to operators of education facilities and Authorised Officers if required by law on a need-to-know basis.

Vaccination Statuses

 

The following vaccination statuses have been defined in :

 

  • Fully vaccinated (boosted).  A worker is considered fully vaccinated (boosted) if they have received a booster dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Fully vaccinated.  A worker is considered fully vaccinated if they have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Partially vaccinated.  A worker is considered partially vaccinated if you have received one doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and are not an excepted person.

  • Unvaccinated.  A worker is considered unvaccinated if they have not received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine are are not an excepted person.

  • Excepted person. A worker is considered an excepted person if they have obtained a certificate from a medical practitioner indicating that they are unable, due to a medical contraindication, to receive a dose, or a further dose, of a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • If an SPS worker chooses not to provide vaccination information or decline to submit their vaccination status they will be treated as if they are unvaccinated for the purpose of the Victorian government directions.

Vaccination deadlines

 

Workers in education facilities and/or authorised allied health workers are required to get vaccinated as soon as possible with the following booster deadlines defined in the pandemic orders:

​

  • For workers who received a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccination on or before 25 October 2021, the deadline is 25 February 2022.

  • For workers who received a second dose of a COVID-19 vaccination after 25 October 2021, the deadline is 15 March 2022.

 
Proof of vaccination

 

Vaccination information is information about a workers vaccination status and includes:

  • Information derived from the Australian Immunisation Register accessible from the myGov account, including the digital certificate of your Vaccination Status (immunisation history statement) available as a PDF document.

  • For an Excepted Person, a certificate from a medical practitioner indicating that you are unable, due to a medical contraindication, to receive a dose, or a further dose, of a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Vaccination information may be recorded in a variety of documents including letters from medical practioners, certificates of immunisation, or digital certificates obtained from the Australian Immunisation Register.
